Tips for Strong Marketing Materials

Marketing materials are only effective when they clearly state the benefits of your business and encourage your customers to take action. Not only that, your marketing materials should appear professional and attractive. Poor quality brochures and business cards will lead customers to believe that you do business poorly. Here are a few tips for creating strong marketing materials for any business venture.

Begin with a Marketing Plan
To get everyone on the same page and create a cohesive marketing campaign, begin with a plan. Your plan should be all inclusive – every detail should be included, down to the shape of your business card printing piece and the paper stock used. If you begin with a well laid out plan, then your marketing materials will reflect the careful thought put into them.

State Your Message Clearly
The main message of you campaign should be clear to your customers. It is the one thing that they should take away from an encounter with your advertisements. Define the greatest benefit that you provide and mention it in every aspect of marketing. If your message is clearly understood, then it will become a known fact.

Give Your Marketing Campaign a Clear Purpose
The reason for creating marketing materials is also the purpose. What is it that you want customers to do? If you want them to call, then state that clearly. If you want them to visit your web site and purchase you product, make that clear as well. On brochures and booklets, the purpose is a call to action. You can, however, put it on your business card in the form of a tag line. A simple clear command is all it takes.

Use Consistent Low Key Marketing
By sending out emails, business cards, or postcards once or twice a quarter, you are subtly reminding your customers that you exist. You will find that this method of marketing can be more successful than a full blown brochure or letter. Sometimes all it takes is placing your well designed logo in front of a customer or prospective customer.

All of Your Materials should Be High Quality
As I mentioned before, poor quality marketing materials gives a bad impression of you. Do not skimp on paper or printing quality. Hire a designer for key items like business cards. Your image is what makes people trust or mistrust you. Be aware of the quality of your marketing materials so that clients and prospects believe in the quality of your products or services.

If you start out strong with a plan and follow through with consistency, then the final result will be strong. Your marketing will be effective and your customer base will grow!
